Great Lakes Political Academy (GLPA) Fellowship

The Great Lakes Political Academy fellowship program is designed for progressives interested in working on political campaigns in as a campaign manager or in a field, communications, data, or fundraising capacity. The fellowship is open to current and future campaign staffers who are interested in developing their skill set to support their candidates and win elections in Michigan and beyond.

The fellowship program is offered each year and is divided into two-parts:

Fellows who are admitted to the general program in the spring are automatically invited to participate in the specialization program in the Fall. Applicants are not required to take both. They can opt to participant in only one program or the other.

Apply to GLPA:

The GLPA fellowship program is FREE for all accepted fellows. Sessions are held in Lansing and Ann Arbor on Sundays from 10 - 1 throughout the Spring and Fall in coordination with the general program or specialization. There is a virtual attendance option for those fellows living in northern Michigan.

Fellows are expected to attend all academic sessions and complete coursework during the week between each academic session held on Sunday.

Applicants are required to provide background information, a resumé, a list of three references, and a one-page cover letter describing how they believe the program will help them accomplish their political and professional goals.

The Selection Committee, which consists of campaign experts, selects qualified fellows on the basis of experience, work ethic, and ability to learn skills necessary for effective campaign management.
