Meet Our Staff

Emily’s journey into politics began during her time as a public radio journalist. While reporting on the issues of the day, she became inspired to move beyond storytelling and work toward creating real change by helping elect better leaders. This passion led her to manage a first-time candidate’s state House race in 2020, where she honed her skills in campaign management and strategy.

An alum of the Great Lakes Political Academy’s (GLPA) General Program and a graduate of the National Democratic Training Committee’s (NDTC) Staff Academy, Emily has a wealth of experience in political training and development. She also served as the Director of Party Affairs for the Michigan Democratic Party, further solidifying her expertise in party organization and campaign operations.

Emily currently resides in Kalamazoo, where she enjoys playing board games in her free time. Her favorite game at the moment is Everdell.
